Anxiety

so a friend of mine is having a party for his birthday in 2 weeks and wants me to go. I went to school with some of these people that are going to the party but they never talked to me. so I don't know if I want to go to this party because of my social anxiety but he really wants me to go. I don't know what to do. I wish I wasn't so tied down by this anxiety. I don't know what to do
