One thing about history, that has always struck me is that when it was written it always reflected the view or opinion of the writer.
Such evidence comes to light in my study of the Bible...
first we should remember it was written by Men...
in a Male dominated society, where females weren't even registerd at birth.. so on and so forth... NOT the POINT, and observation...
Subject of my minds eye dis moanin
Nimrod's tree...
The accounts that I could find, in my limited research. Suggest that this fellow was not stupid. He had great influnence over people of this period. Most of all He worshiped his Mom... Okay laymens terms a mama's boy...
This guy according to what I researched is believed to married his mom... stranger things can happen I suppose... then again I wonder if in any way his love for his mother was used to discredit him because he was against the norm for the time... being he was in oppisition to God... or religions of that period...
In fact he was said to be building a tower to the Gods... I could not find any reference to which Gods... or as to the function of this Tower...but according to the orginal scriptures as translated into english as best as I could research...
God was not happy about this Tower, therefore he cause everyone to become confused... unable to speak and understand the same langauge as they were when they started this Tower...
I have always wondered why this Tower was so important, how could a man made object be of any threat to Our Creator... in my humble opinion it was not... but I do suspect it was of some importants to the belief of that period... being Zero tolorance for non compliance...
See the reason for my babbling this moanin is that, first in most importantly is during this time according to scripture God had sent angels, to help guide mankind in life issues... and well me being hard headed and not ready to just except them magically appearing (the angels) ang given all the information about how angels traveled and some of the events and things that ocurred...
you can look this up ya know...
to be short...
The angels interfered and the Tower failed to be completed... just kinda rotted away over the years because people were no longer interested in completeing it... and the fact that they could not all speak the same laungage... they drifted off in groups of like understandings... and that was that...
But not for Nimrod... see his little plan failed.. and his tower was a flooppppp.... but he still had his little kingdom and he still loved his mom... of course like I said I couldn't find a lot of information as to what was really going on, and I did how ever feel like maybe some information I dug up not in the scriptures kinda looked like... a big effort to discredit Nimrod... I don't care one way or the other... but you got to admitt a fellow being accused of marrying his mom is like discussing... so nuff said there...
This whole sad little long winded story come to the conclusion of Nimrods Tree...
See when Nimrods Mom died... He planted a Tree on her grave... A evergreen tree... I don't know what kind could of been a cedar, blue spruce.. what ever... but it became an object for decorating every year to remember his mom...this tree was adopted into what we now use as a Christmas Tree... according to people other than myself who did a much deeper investigation into history...
Now this was just a round about account of what I remember, about my research into the bible... I did it on my own. this is just my own reflection of what I think I... and let me express I... learned.
there are folks that use this to reflut the celebrations of Christmas...
Me I think God give use choices... I never found in the scriptures where It suggest we should not celebrate Christmas... Nor any strong reason too...
But I think Christmas is good for All of us...as it reminds us of the fact... Jesus was born into the Human Race... A gift... so to speak from his Father Our Creator... this I chose to believe...A gift of LOVE...
I also chose to believe... that Nimrods tree was a symbol of a son's love for his mother... nothing more... maybe just maybe... I chose to give Nimrod the benifit of a doubt... maybe he wasn't all so bad... but we weren't there... but I find it odd that the first evergreen tree to be decorated every years by a man so scorned in the scriptures... is used to remember the birth of Christ...
Sorry... I don't mean to influnce anyone just tellin ya about what I read and how it makes me wonder...
I hope I haven't offended any one with this... sorry I put so much of my own emotion in to it... Hey...I'm the kind of person that would love to believe any one that repents and ask forgiveness will recive it from our Creator...
I hope this don't come back and bite me .... Russ
