CON-VE-NIENT adj/ Near at hand......

I live in a little villiage, Mindoro Wi... also know as farmington... so don't ask me why... I been trying to figure this out since I Moved to Wisconsin... wonder if there's another name for the stste too lol...

Heard say the most popular fraze in Wisconsin is ...
"hold my beer, Watch this..."
OH yeah about Mindoro... well the local grocerier... retired... so the store is now closed... dang. 15 miles to the nearest grocery store... where they hide the ice cream... tater chips and what not... beer.... Ice... crackers for chilli... dang.

gas being near three bucks a gallon...

So we got a Convenient store... aint gonna tell the name...hehehehe I gotta live here ya know and these folks all relate, me I'm from Texas...

Any who's I needed some crackers for my low fat sodium free chilli... neat hun.. I even use up the last of my great northern beans in this chilli.... yummmmmy....
Ooops..
So what I think is I run down to this convenient store... and grab a bag of frito's... I know they cost over three dollars for a bag... but I get real smart and go to get me a box of crackers... yepp.... OMG... the box I can buy for buck fifty 15 miles away they want $3.79 for a box of crackers four bag box... and so I take a gander at the single box and geee whizzzzz It's almost $2.00 for a single bag of crackers...

That's not convenient....
IT'S HIGHWAY ROBBERY.... (being the store is on the highway)
Scary aint it... how greedy and selfish we get in our business lifes...

So what you might think...

Hey I don't like paying 1.29 for a bottle of coke that just a few years ago cost less that ten cents... okay okay... about fourty years ago lol.. but hey when I got out of high school 25 cents would buy any coke or candy bar behind the counter.... 1971... gas was 15 cents a gallon and they was havin gas wars... given away them funky looking glasses and S&S green stamps... don't ya remember that???

Nope I might run to the store barefooted for a 6 cent coke... but hey not now lol... old V-ger gonna do the runnin and I'm wearin me flip flops... unless it's snowin... they slippery on snow ya know...

What ya mean you don't know what a flip flop is... well we called em thongs untill ... well I started gettin confuse as to where some women was wearin them thongs... hehehehe... that ain not thong... least it don't smell like em ... Oh did I say that out loud...
shut up bobbin....
oh gosh how come my face feel all red, and flusterd...
Thongs... yeah we call them flip flops Hong Kong thongs.. Now they made by fruit of the loom and well gee face it I know those thangs gonna ride up...
Just like them boxer shorts when ya least expect it...
that can't be comfortable...\
what the hail was I talkin about..
Oh snow and flip flops, nope

Looks like I took a wrong turn and got lost friends...
is that smoke comin out ya ears...
shut up bobbin...
I'm not sure I should of invited Bobbin.. he's crazier than I am..

but if ya smiled I'll keep him round for a laugh or two...

To all my DS friends... many blessing and hope for a pain free day, and a smile to chase away the blues...

I'm in the middle of the road so far... 5/10, I can live with dat...
have a great day with many blessing and best wishes Russ

You and I had the same experience. A while back my wife was sick and had not ate for a day or so. She said she wanted some crackers. I went in one of those stores also, and got a single pack for $1.99. I could not believe it. You can buy the 4 pack box at a dollar store here for $1. May not be named brand, but just as good to me. When my wife and I got married, we went on a cruise. We were in the Bahamas. Now on the boat you could eat whatever and whenever, for free, but on the island you paid. A hotdog was $7 and a can drink was $3.50. Needless to say, I ate on the boat.
