Horse, wondering off into the woods. Sure brings back some memories. I grew up just North of Austin Texas. 620 and 183 to be eggzackly. Place Called Pecan Park. moved there in 1959. 18 miles from the city limits of Austin. About a mile or so from Jollyville, Texas. Lots of country back then. I mowed lots in Pecan Park for five bucks a pop. Just over 1/2 arce. Bought me a horse. Her name was Brownie. Quarter horse she was. She was my best friend. Could of sworn she snickered at me cause I fell off the fence. She'd come any time I called. bought her when I was 14, cause grandma wanted me to have a horse. Grandma sold her to get back at me for running off to live with my mom. end of story, but not the memories. Had a catch 22, I worked my butt off for that horse, worked even harder to keep her and feed her. Then she had her colt, a Pinto, he was a real character. He didn't like me riding his mom lol. He try to bite me kick at me, Brownie just get between us like we were her kids or something. Yeah I missed that horse for a while. Later after I was tossed out of the Air Force, I worked on an Arabian Horse ranch in Garison North Dakota. Those are some smart animals, they learn fast, beautiful one way to describe, them. I'm glad I got a horse instead of a motorcycle. Can't see myself hugging a honda lol. I did hug my 66 Mustang once lol, just being silly of course. being silly, I was about 13 just before I bought my horse, I was out wondering in the woods one summer. I was on my way to visit a friend couple miles from the house, back in the sticks. Way back in the sticks. My buddy and I would play with the bumble bees, chuck rocks at yellow jacket nest. Oh yeah bright young men we were. the subject of the day was a wild horse. Well he was wild, no one rode him, owner told us just leave him alone so we wouldn't get hurt. I alone that day, cause my friend wasn't at home. I decided to ride that old horse. So I climbed a tree the horse like to visit for the shade. I waited, the plan was just dropp out the tree on the horse back. Good plan. Horse didn't want no part of my plan, I landed on my butt very hard cause he just side stepped out of the way. Big old meanie, just put his face down and blew snickers and snot all over my face. Walk off cooler than a cummuber, like nothing never happen. Next time I saw that horse he walked right up to me. I even gave him a carrot or two before my friend movedd... 1960's great time to grew up in rual Texas...
