update
Went for a flu jab recently and managed to wangle some of my recent test results from the nurse who kindly printed them off.
Looks conclusive for the insulin mediated then. See endo on 16th now as managed to get a quicker app.
Fasting insulin high, c-peptide high, hich CPR, low ESR, ferritin has climbed from 3 to 23 big wow after over 6 months iron supplement. Nhing else much of interest :)
Had rt hand ultrasound , of course by time of app the irritation in the bones had settled a lot. Nothing particulary notable. He did comment on the swellings between knuckles, I said, " oh no not swollen the muscles have grown in there". Consultant radiographer never heard of pseudo acro before,.......neither had the dietician...............or the consultant dermatologist................ lol.
Went to see the dermy, he wrote back saying following doing a bit of research he suspects this totally responsible for the sweating too. He also has a man on his list that sweats, has thick skin and twce he has referred him on, on suspicion of acro......... negative but he also has higher than normal levels of insulin going on.
Have also had a lt kn MRI as that is the worst at the mo. Awating review with rheumy.
She also said she may inject my trochanteric bursae...........already been told elswhere that i don't have bursitis. I still think it my actual hip joints and my trochanter bone that the problem. No imaging done there yet..........which really was what i was after :( Guess may have to fight for that.
Put post on main board for info to compare. Rheumy does not really think I have an inflammatory process at work. Neither do I really. Question is where do I find help for this. I want to know the ins and outs of the problem not just throw pills at it.
She said" I may not be able to cure your pain you may need to look at chronic pain management"
I said Unravelling the problem would go a long way to helping, just to understand whats wrong................and that I would never expect my pain to be 'cured' she does not after all own a magic wand.
So see endo on thurs and await a rheumy review. Exciting stuff eh???
Weather, winter depression, visits to Scotland and christmas shopping been taking its toll so not been around so much.
xxx
Oh yes I also requested copies of my hospital notes where I had all my ortho work done , all rheumy visits and the initial acro investigations. all bloods, x rays reports etc. £32.20 cost.so not to bad i guess. Just on the hunt for clues lol plus I wanted to have them for when I move back north. One thing they not put in is the format the bloods can be seen in online where you can follow trends so will be ringing this week for this :)
