Hope
Hope. In my life of severe, chronic pain after the anger of having my life stolen away and after the frequent fighting with the pain, I discovered hope. I accepted my new life and embraced hope. Hope for what, in what? Very simple really, I just hope for a pain free hour and for a half night of real sleep. I hope for a good day and that I can help someone else who suffers this way. Sometimes, I just hope for something good to happen today. Hope has not removed any pain but only helps me cope more peacefully with it. I have moments and I have days that hope seems to slip away. When that happens I feel I am beginning to slip away into the darkness of depression. I certainly do not desire to have that along with the severe, constant pain. That is when I must grab hold of hope again. If you feel you've been swallowed up into the dark abyss remember to put in your mind's grip one hopeful thought and do not let that thought go, hang on tight for that is the beginning of your journey upward. ~Sherry
