Hello Everyone!
Just a brief check-in. I am headed to Indianapolis as my baby sister had surgery (replacement of 5 disks) Tuesday and isn't doing too well. She has lost a lot of blood and will have a transfusion today.
I pretty much raised my baby sister; she is 12yrs. younger than me. I carried her home from the hospital and I don't think I ever let her down. I have told her she saved my life. It is probably the first feeling of love I ever felt in my family. She was a form of Grace to me.
Anyway, she is a very anxious person, very fearful person at times a very controlling person. Spending the next five days with her will certainly give my an opportunity to see if I am putting into practice what I believe. Ha! She is also very loving and very giving.
I would appreciate prayers for me and for her! When I go through things as this, there are always flashbacks. I have so many stories of she and I. One being, her abuse from our Mom. She came to live with me after my Mom busted her lip and hit her in the head with a frying pan; many, many, more stories; good and not so good.
I will pray for me to have a compassionate heart, listen and extend Love.
My reading this morning and I need to hear it.
There is no difficulty that enough Love will not conquer; no door that enough Love will not open; no gulf that enough Love will not bridge; no wall that enough Love will not throw down.
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble, how hopeless the outlook, how muddled the tangle, how great the mistake; a sufficient realization of Love will dissolve it all. If only you could love enough you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world.
If I am triggered during this visit, may I remember how very wounded we both have been and remember to come from this place of Love not the place of fear.
Have a blessed Friday all.
XO

Many loving Blessings to you & your baby sister today!
(\"Anyway, she is a very anxious person, very fearful person at times a very controlling person.\" Anxious, fearful, and controlling are all symptoms about managing PTSD and avoiding the unresolved emotions about her, and your, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual abuse. The fact that the abuse \"didn\'t make sense\" doesn\'t change the fact that the abuse was about ya\'ll\'s mom and her psychiatric identity problems, not you and your sister\'s innocent identity. It\'s not about figuring out the reasoning or purpose of what was done to you both, it\'s accepting the pain you high survived. IMHO. Not that it makes any difference today, yet. It was what it was, nothing can change what happened, and you both survived the hell of your childhood now. I wish all the love you need today, if it helps; physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.)
Have as good and loving trip you can muster! Go in peace.
Rich. XXXOOO
my thoughts and prayers are with you and your sis Vicky. I hope you do all right...I\'m sure you will and if some stuff happens that\'s all right too. lots of love & hugs to you
Hi Vicki. Wishing you a special time with your sister. I have no doubt that you will carry all that you have learnt with you as you visit your sister. My thoughts are with you xxx
I haven\'t visited you in a long time. I apologize for that. I hope that your sister\'s condition improves soon. Sounds very painful. Surgeries can be difficult and if there is a lot of physical pain it can bring up emotional pains too.
I hope with you visiting her will lift her spirits and encourage her and she will improve. mind and body I do believe are interconnected.
I can relate to your situation with sister to a certain degree. I think a long time ago I shared with you.
I and my sister suffered abuse from childhood. I understand about flashbacks. I still get triggered at times myself. It is One of the reasons why I have been reluctant to go back to my parent\'s home.
But sister and I have dealt or should I say dealing with it differently in our own ways. she is a different personality to me. I am the one who has anxiety, sensitivities and trust issues. we haven\'t always been on the same page but we have gotten better over the years and I do believe Love overides much.
I would never had thought that I would be spending a weekend in London with my sister, but we have arranged to do that next year and I am actually excited about that. Now that is growth and progress. Healing takes years and probably forever.
I hope you don\'t mind me sharing that with you about my sister.
I just wanted to show that and I agree with you that Love can dissolve it all.
And I like what Richiart said. about the abuse is always about the perpetrator, not you or sister, nothing can change what happened, but you both survived your childhood. you and your sister are survivors just as I and my sister are. And that is something to be proud of or be thankful of. It is a good thing.
Remain in the present as much as you can. That is still a challenge for me. but it does help whenever a trigger or negative thought comes up over the past.
Remind yourselves that you are safe now. This is a new day.
I will keep your sister in thought, and send positive energy. I hope that your visit with her will prove to be a good thing and you both do well from it.
Blessings and best wishes to you both.
Thank-you everyone ! Sister is doing pretty well! Tough surgery!
Glad to hear she is doing well! It is good you could be there for her - good for you both.
