ME

I was talking to a client the other day and told her I wrote poetry sometimes. She asked to see some. In going thru my poems, I found one I had written after a workshop. The end of the workshop ended like this: We all stood in a straight line and one at a time came face to face (pretty close; almost nose to nose) and was to behold the "the "Light/Christ in them." After I went home, I remember writing this within 5 min...Spirit moved me. I haven't read it in years and was actually touched by it as I read it this a.m. Sharing.
ME

Something is stirring inside of me
A freedom ringing loud
Before I was lost and frail
Now I stand so proud
Proud to be a woman
Proud to be free
Awakened by the Spirit
I am living eternity
There are no words to share with you
This feeling that fills my heart
Who would of thought this “good for nuthin”
Would turn into a piece of art
It’s not the amount of work I have done
Or the way I’ve kept my home
It’s about the way I see myself
Power filled – no more alone
For now I know that deep within
The Light was always bright
I just needed to persuade myself
Not to hang on so tight.
To the fear that so often consumed me
To the lack that wasn’t real
To what others they had taught me
I – I must begin to heal
I’m walking in my power now
I love the woman I see
And when I look into the mirror
I really do love me
So long held in bondage
A slave I was to dark
But staring into others eyes
I found my great big heart
I saw their eyes so beautiful
My heart could not express
Am I the giver or the gift
Does it really matter
I know we've both been blessed!
