Day 4
I remember a few years ago, maybe 3 or 4 years ago, when I was seriously trying to stop drinking. Day 3 was always the hardest. I would get this anxiety and it was like my blood was rushing to my head and I would feel sick. Sick like I needed a drink. Inevitably almost every time, except for the one time I made it 2 weeks, I would give in on the third day and get drunk. After awhile I kinda gave up trying. I decided it was who I was. If I couldn't make it past three days then I was always going to be a drunk. Well family issues that have come up before are back again in recent weeks and I made a vow to myself that I would quit drinking on 11/1/11. To my wife I told her I was going on a diet starting that day. I don't mention my drinking to her much. The only time it comes up usually is when she catches me drinking by finding my empties.
But this time I decided it is for real and I made it past day 3. Yay! The funny thing is that it wasn't all that hard. I didn't get that sick for a drink feeling. Maybe it was all in my head before? Well I am halfway through day 4 and won't drink right now.
