Just got home from putting my dog to sleep. He was a really good dog of fifteen years. I'm gonna miss him. Played him some blues on my guitar. His spirit has joined the spirit of all living things that come from the earth. I'm bummed but I am at peace. He died while I was scratching his face like he loves, in my hands. Goodby Fritz, I'll be with you when I'm outside. He's a Miniature American Eskimo. Very good dog to have.

Sorry for your loss Wes. I am glad he left with his master so close, that had to make his exit more comforting.

I am sorry to hear of your dog\'s passing. We lost 2 dogs in 2008, Neo Mastiffs who died in their 9th year, a full life for a giant breed. I am glad Fritz died in the comfort of your arms. My 1st dog, Jedra, died in my and my hubby\'s arms (she was also a Neo Mastiff.) Julius had a massive heart attack. Died so peacefully a few feet away from us that no one knew he was gone! Josie died exactly 3 months later on the OR table. She had bloat, despite the fact that she ate \"wet\" foods. She had a heart condition and was given 3-6 months to live, 2 yrs before she passed. Her heart couldn\'t take the anesthetic and that was that, but we had to try, because bloat is a horrible way to go and deadly even for healthy pups 50% of the time. You sound like a wonderful doggie dad. May Fritz live inside you and guide and bless you from the Great Beyond. Happy memories will replace the sadness. The love survives and so does the Spirit!
