Had a holiday nightmare,Ive broken my ankle sky diving, holiday was going well intill i done that i met a few ppl who i got on with well but landed bad on my ankle.I had 6 hours training on the second day with a guy who was also on his own here from ireland he booked up to do the whole skydiving course (8 jumps) and it was quite intense and there is alot of things to remember and if the first parachute doesnt open properly you should cut it away and release the second canopy, also if you get tangled up in the first canopy you are in trouble and you should try to untangle it other wise the two canopies get tangled together and then you are as good as dead, I have a brain like a sive sometimes, i think its because im anxious and i dont think i was taking everything i was being taught, i hate being like that cause it makes me think im thick especially since one of the instructors i was jumping with kept making me reapeat the process and was being rude to me.I also until my injury was enjoying my trip and having fun trying to talk spanish to people, telling the receptionist that i was booked in took my like 20 minutes but it was sorted in the end.The day of the jump i was really excited and while we were going up in the plane i was told to check my altimeter (device that shows you in feet how high up you are) the jump was at 15000 feet and the scenery looked awsome, got shown by the instrutors where the drop zone landing was, i was never going to remeber so its lucky i new there is a guy on the ground who directs us back to the drop zone by microphone if you are a beginner. Two jumpers jumped out before we did when it got to 15000 feet and it looked mad, but then one of the instructors asked me wether im ready to skydive which i think is the last point where you can back out, i said yes went over to the open plane door and said to the instructor to my left check in and to the one on my right check out which show them that i am ready to jump, when i jump it felt great was a bit hard to see as loads of clouds as it was cloudy, while you fall on the level one jump which i was doing the 2 instructors hold onto you while you are in freefall and give you hand signals as it is too hard to hear up there, they kept doing the signal to arch and i arched and i done my practice pulls and then i got thumbs up which was cool it means your doing well, then i done the signal which shows them that i am going to open my canopy this is at 6000 feet after falling 9000 feet which takes 50 seconds, i opened it and i saw the instrutors go underneath me as there canopies are alot smaller as they are experianced and so they can fall at higher speeds, when the canopy opens everything goes quiet and i looked up at it and it was fine thank god otherwise i would have shitted it, soon after i heard the guy on the mic talking to me, the view was amazing and it seemed like i was falling slowly, he directed me in and got me to do some practice pulls with the shoot which you have to do using the toggles which you hold that direct the canopy to which direction you can move.As i came in everything was getting alot bigger and the guy with the mic told me that as it was so windy it would be a fast landing, i saw him near to where i was going to land and i put my feet out in the landing position i underestimated how fast i was going to land and my ankle got twisted so i thought when i was on the floor i looked at my ankle and i saw my foot was pointing in another direction and i knew that wasnt good the guy ran in and called for an ambulance i was on the floor which was mostly brown sand it was really hot and i thought shit im really fucked now,i will carry on with my story later as i have to sort some stuff out now, hope everything okay with you guys!
