What I thought was food poisioning turned out to be Diverticulitis. Unfortunately I was rushed to the Emergency Room and while there my intestine ruptured. I had emergency surgery and for the next six months needs to wear a colostomy bag. This is a very trying and depressing time for me and at first I didn't know if I could get through it.
I had my surgery on March 6th and am using this time to think of all the Positives that will come out of this. To date, I've quit smoking and stopped my caffine intake.

Upon my return to the doctor she told me my stoma had died and on April 3rd I had to have another surgery. The pain of recutting the initial incision was horrible and put me in a bad state of depression. The second surgery put me back one month and I just didn\'t want to deal with it. A week later, my spirits better and my attitude stronger, I was able to deal and forced myself to handle it and overcome the obstacle.
Today is April 18th and other than minor discomfort, I\'m doing great. I\'m willing myself to heal for at the end of the month I have tickets to see Diana Ross and I \'will\' be there, even if they have to wheel me in :)
Life is getting better and I\'m beginning to see that Light at the end of the tunnel.

Stitches are out and my incision is healing nicely. This is one hell of a journey.

Coppa, sorry it\'s been SOOO Long for this reply. Nearly 7 years now since my ordeal and I\'m doing awesome and feel fantastic. My Journey From Hell, as I called it, is now just a memory; still painful at times to recall it all but I survived :)
