10/27/2014 Wondering If The Universe Is Telling Me Something?
I have allowed 2 paths to my future to open up. I am presently looking for signs as to which path will be of most benefit to me.
Path 1: To move to Hawaii. I've talked much about it in past journals. I have set aside money from the settlement to mature in 2 years to make it remotely possible to afford to move there. I have done research into the cost of living, cost of transporting household goods, gasoline & utility prices, subscribed to the grocery store chain sales flyer to compare prices for food items, researched neurology services & which island has the best fit for me (Oahu), compared real estate prices for similar homes on Oahu & Hawaii, compared land tax rates between NY & HI, ad nausea. I DO KNOW what I am up against & it will be living in paradise to ease the pain in my body at a price damn near equal to how expensive it is to live & pay taxes in NY. It kinda evens out- 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other. No matter which state, it's expensive.
Path 2: I had an interesting conversation with my middle sister a week ago or so. She moved to North Carolina not too long ago. About 50 minutes east of Asheville, so she's west, in the mountains, not east on the hot & humid shore. She offered to me to build a house on her property. She won't charge me anything, just come & build a house. She explained her property is actually 2 lots with 2 tax i.d. numbers. One of her 2 lots is empty with a well & septic in place.
I've been looking for signs from the Universe or from God, or which ever name you choose to call the Divine. Seems as if some signs have been put in front of me. Regarding my potential path to live in Hawaii: one hurricane went by recently but didn't hit the state. Now there's another & Hawaii is in it's projected path. A second sign is Kilauea lava has sped up & is aiming for a town.
I'm listening, Universe.
I have a visit to my sister planned for late January/early February next year. I'd like to see what winter is all about down there. Last winter was kinda tough for the South. I also will be negotiating a deal with my sister if I like the property. I appreciate the offer, however it is not fair to her monetarily & in the long run it could be a trap for me if I ever move. Even if my name is on the deed to the house, my sister's name is on the deed to the land. I must buy the land, if this is the path I choose, providing the winter doesn't hurt my bones when I visit next year.
I'll be sending out email inquiries to potential neuros & see what feedback I get. Asheville is big enough for good care & it's a 50 minute drive. It would be like driving to Fishkill to see my GP or to Kingston for my neuro.
I'll be further researching medical services locally to the town the land is in, as well as needed services in Asheville or even Charlotte.
Meanwhile, Universe- I've heard what you've said so far & I am still listening. Confirmation will come when I fly down next year. My body isn't quite ready for a flight. 2 hours in the car is my limit right now & I'm working towards longer time in the car & longer time standing. I found a direct flight from Stewart to Charlotte, non-stop, a little over 3 hours. My body is working to be ready!
Thank you, Universe
Love to my wonderful DS friends!

Which ever path you decide on you are doing all the needed work to make sure its the best fit for you.... way to go for doing all the research and not just jumping into something!!! I totally agree that its very nice of your sister to offer and having family close can have its benefits too but you are very smart to make it more of a legal transaction because it could avoid hurt feelings later on if you felt you needed to move else where in the future. Take it slow and you will find your way .... its going to be amazing which every path you decide :)
hello friend, sorry I haven\'t written lately. Computer at home is down. Waiting for a disc from Dell to repair I hope. Boy you have a lot to think about. Never been to Hawaii but I have been to north Carolina. Its too bad you can\'t go visit for a month or two to see what climate will be better for your health. best wishes- Arlene
Nice to have options though. Building a new home has many benefits. Like putting in ramps in case you need them later on. But you are right you really would want to own the land the house is on and be sure the climate doesn\'t hinder your health. I know the storm fronts really do me in here. The barometric pressure changes make me want to cry. Love the heat and the sun! Keep praying about it, you will get it right. Love ya
