It's National Grandparents Day!



Were/are you close with any of your grandparents? What did you call them (i.e. Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, Pop, etc.)?



Are you a grandparent yourself? If so, how many grandkids do you have and are you close with them? And what do they call you?

I was very close with my grandmom, who greatly influenced who I am today...my independence, desire to feed others when they come to my house, and my love of baking. She made me feel very loved. I used to spend summers at her haunted house. She had a great sense of humor, and when asked about it, she would say that she was more afraid of the living than the dead. :) She lived to be 95!

My grandparents were wonderful as well

One moved in with us when I was 2 and she loved animals ...all wildlife

I feed the birds and squirrels I think due to her

My grandparents were so kind and I always felt very loved by them

well I lost grandma on Mom's side early so not much memories. Her dad I did know and he was an outdoors man with our family farm....also his sister had a fishing camp in Canada that he went to yearly we visited there three times I think.
Dad's parents were German and Grampa and Nana....Grampa died before I turned 15 but I did get to drive the car we got from him. Nana never drove. I had more with her in my life as she ended up moving in with us after living alone for while. She lived over 95 yrs old.

    Today mom and I are taking Moo and Copper to the vet for vaccines.  I'm watching a movie having coffee while copper snoozes in between my knees.  What does Thursday look like for you?

    My friend invited me out for lunch at this nice, clean sit-in place, where I got to order a salad of my choice with two chicken toppings out of a wall-mounted variety. I don't remember the name of the place. However, it was a nice experience. Thereafter, we headed down to one of my favorite dessert destinations, the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in McAllen.
