I lost my husband in August he was 39 and I was 36. Although I can't relate to you as a mother (I do not have children of my own) I can relate to the crushing loss you are feeling right now from losing your husband and best friend. For me, once the initial shock began to wear off after the first few months, it began to get harder and harder as weeks went by. Then, the holidays put that pain into overdrive. I have good days and horrible days and many on a scale in between. I never realized how the steady stream of loneliness and sadness can spike and overflow at the most unexpected times, places ect. Emotional landmines come in so many forms. Even going grocery shopping is hard, as I realize I no longer buy the things he liked. Your kids are so lucky to have you as their mom. You are stronger than you know and you're never walking this road of grief alone. Hang in there! Peace and blessings to you and your family.
