What is tilapia if not fish??

well the thing is that there are fish farmers in 3rd world countries who raise tilapia and the food that some feed these fish is human waste....

I never eat that type of fish...I think I shot one with a slingshot fishing spear when I lived on Guam and I did not seem to like the looks of that fish and it is not that meaty a fish at all....it is less meaty than a small mouth bass.....almost more like sunfish we catch all the time when fishing in my areas....rightly I do not want to eat that little piece of fish....I do not want a farm raised fish....I was a fresh caught fish....

But I researched it and what I've seen and what I buy it's a beautiful meaty fish that's filet , it isn't always the same size but it's a meaty fish, I was thinking perhaps they have different types of fish they don't Know what kind it is and they call it tilapia, I know this my dinner was amazing

There are a hundred species labeled tilapia. Some have an off taste due to the water they grow in. I have many other fish that I prefer. Catfish is really popular here, but also not on my list of a fish to eat.

I had the best catfish in my life while assisting a catered affair for congressman Ed Towns, he had the catfish flown from Georgia for this special Christmas affair, OMG I'd never tasted anything so amazing before
