Ladies and Gentlemen
Welcome to the new generation
The Labeled Generation
Every generation is given the ability to prove itself, to separate itself from all the generations that have come before, and to make sure that no generation after will forget them. In each generation there are those who rise and fall to the occasion and create something in the world that alters it for every thing and every one that will come after. As generations come and go, things ebb and flow, buildings raise and fall, as each generation wants to be the best.
As each generation dims, whether by choice or not, the next generation begins to forge a new path through the world. As the old give way to the new, things are over looked or over complicated; things are under appreciated and over exaggerated. Things are given more importance than they have, while things of great knowledge and wealth of information are pushed into the back ground as unneeded clutter in the wave of the future.
We, ladies and gentlemen, are the generation that is taking that step of giving to one thing more credit than it deserves, and we believe in it, like we once believed in the man gods of old. We are a generation of labelers. We have chosen labels to define how our generation will be remembered. We label things so that we do not have to think about them, we label things so that we do not have to rethink them, and we label things so that we know how to react.
We have chosen labels over free thinking ability, and for this we have altered the course of all humanity. For the better or for the worse is not for our generation to know, for we are still living it. Future generations, those yet to come, will tell us, if we were wrong or right, if we are heroes or villains. We are the Label Generation, if it exists we give it a label, if it does not exist we label it, and if it no longer exists then it is labeled as well.
We use our labels like those before us used weapons and war to forge their way through life. They are the tools that we use to propel ourselves and our generation into the next life, and the tools we use to build upon it. Labels are the shelves for our knowledge and the voices from the shadows. They are the flow of time itself for us, and the leading cause of all things.
Labels are our excuse, our bandage, our healing power, our gun and our shelter. They are our war cry and our battle armor; they are our rain, our bread and our livelihoods. Labels are the oil that makes the world turn and the gears of life move in precise and calculated motions. They are what we are, and they have become what we are now becoming. Our labels are the guards and towers we put up in our defense, and the armies we send out into the world. We labels things right and wrong by using more labels.
By accepting these labels we have given up the ability to think, to be and to know. We have sold our souls for the ability to refuse responsibility for our action, by collecting labels to carry like a badge of honor and insecurity. We have given up our minds to the labels and to the placement of those labels upon ourselves and those around us. We have given labels the entirety of ourselves so that we no longer have the fear of getting it wrong.
We have allowed the fears to labels us, and those labels have taken the form of our fears. We have sold ourselves in prostitution to the labels, and to those who label us with them. We fear everything in life, every tiny thing scares us, and to fight those fears we give labels to things. Those labels make us feel secure, safe and in control of that fear.
We are no longer human-kind, for we have labeled ourselves into groups and peoples that label each other in attempts to make them greater, and less fearful. We have forsaken the rights of being human in awe of the fear and those who fight fear with labels. We have handed over everything that is human, so that we may be labeled, and held aloft from out fears. We have forsaken humanity in the wake of disharmony for the sanctity and security of labels.
We are no longer human beings; we are no longer brothers and sisters in humanity. No we have forsaken that, and given ourselves to the labels and to those who labels us as we label each other and ourselves. We are intolerant, unproductively cruel and tortuous creatures that chose to inflict our fears onto others. We label and are labeled in a way to sterilize life into acceptable attitudes and actions. Into the ways we can be comfortable, and safe.
We label things so that we no longer have to fear what they are. We label the good and the bad, we create labels so that those things we didnâ??t fear before now have a label so that we will know whether to fear it or not. We give labels upon things so that we know that we are right, they are wrong, and there is no longer a middle ground.
So I welcome you all to this generation of labeled peoples. You can fit yourself into the labels that make you feel safe and secure, and you can follow the labels that tell you who are fair game for hate and retribution. To this generation of dead thinkers and insecure souls, who wander the world in a blinded and deafen, self imposed prison.
I welcome you all to this place you have chosen as your standing ground of this generation. You have labeled your path before you, and you collect your labels upon your breast like so many medals awarded. To this place that we have all created, in our selfish attempts to find singular salvation at the cost of all things.
I welcome you to this land of barren death, which has been labeled Paradise. To the dry cracked earth, that has been refused water for it is labeled incorrectly, and to the biting wind that has been labeled a traitor. To the burning rays of a sun labeled as hostile and the wasteland we have labeled upon Great Wealth.
I welcome you all to this place of nothingness, and to a generation of labels, because there is nothing else to welcome you to. Long past are the ideas to heal the world, and the hopes of the future, for they have been labeled and filed and lost. When you list yourself you list labels that you carry, but you do not think of their meaning.
You give the list of reasons and labeled excuses, as your person. Your labels as your character and your labels as your essential self. When you are asked about yourself, you give labels, and those labels tell others what to think, how to act and everything they need to know about you. Or do they?
I welcome you here to this place, to this generation. I will ask you only once, and once I will listen to your answer, for your answer is not for me to know, it is for you to understand. Your answer is everything you need to know about yourself. So it is your choice to be labeled and it is your choice to throw those labels away and be a true human.
Every label is a link to something, and it is your choice, if you so chose to make it, to remove the labels, or to live by them. Not every label is a curse upon you, but the labels you have chosen as the excuse rather than the reason, are what shall lock you to this generational waste land of nothingness and void of humanity.
What defines you?
