This song I think ,is sort of a warning to stay pure and clean because other's will follow in your footsteps to destruction.

I'm sure that is true, but what I get out of the song is to be careful what you allow yourself to be exposed to, because it's a slow fade into the path of destruction. People don't crumble and fall into sin in one day, but if you allow yourself to be exposed to small things just a little at a time day after day, that's when people are led slowly into destruction. So don't even go there in the first place, but instead guard what you allow yourself to see, hear, etc. Of course we should also be a good example to others, but I think the song is more about keeping yourself from falling into destruction.
