This group is for Christian women only. We seek to love and encourage one another with the compassion Christ gives us.
Romans 12:1-8 (Quoted from the NLT)
1-2 “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. (2) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
3-5 “Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning. Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. (4) Just as your bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, (5) so it is with Christ’s body, and we all belong to each other.”
6-8 “In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out as much faith as God has given you. (7) If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach them well. (8) If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given leadership abilities, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift of showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”
My comments: If we truly want to worship God, the best way to do it is by giving of ourselves in a sacrificial way. We should be reading God’s Word so it can transform our thinking, and when our thinking changes, then our actions will also change into good, and pleasing, and perfect actions that match up with God’s will. We shouldn’t think that we are better or more important than anyone else. We should think of ourselves as Christ’s body, each having a different function, just as a human body has many parts, and each part functions together, all equally important. We should each use the talents and gifts that God gave us, and do our best to be utilized in our given area.
This passage was encouraging the Romans, and anyone else who reads it, to remember there are many parts of the body and body of Christ.
Ecrn the small toe on your left foot.
You don't realize how important that member is until it is removed. Did you know the little tors on both feet help with balance and stability?
And, one member of the body of Christ...like to lady who helps clean the building..,is Very missed when not there. The toilet paper does not get filled.
So, again, I say with Paul, each member in the body of God is important!
- we should offer our bodies as a living sacrifice ( treat our bodies as holy, belonging to God)
-we should not conform to the pattern of this world ( I believe the outside world should be able to tell Christians apart from others because of their lifestyles)
-we should not think ourselves better than anyone else.
-All Christians form one whole body through Christ. Each member is important as has already been said
-we should use our different gifts willingly
-hate evil; hold to good.
