Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind he will find acceptable. This is truely the way to worship him. (2) Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by chaning the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's Will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
I like the way the King James Version phrases it, "be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." I believe the second verse is saying that our thoughts are changed, or our minds are renewed by reading God's Word, and His Word will transform our thinking. But we have to do our part, by reading it, studying it, and then putting it into action.
But, the important part is WE have to Act. We have to Read. We have to accept God and what can be accomplished.
We have to accept the FREE gift first. Then, we need to do something with it. It's not a trophy gift, to be left on the shelf and admired only.
