I had dinner with my ex on sunday night. I don't know what I hoped to gain or what I expected, but I now know it was a bad idea. We broke up alittle over three months ago and while it wasn't a hostile ending, it was a pretty painful one for me. I still loved him and missed him terribly. Maybe thats what motivated me to go, I'm not sure, but I honestly thought I was over him enough to tolerate seeing him. Turns out I was wrong. The minute he walked through the restaurant door old emotions and unanswered questions flooded back.
I kept calm and stayed pleasant, but when he more or less told me that he's already moved on and doesn't even miss me anymore, or regret the hell he put me through during the last few months of our relationship, I felt like all of the air went out of the room. We were together for two years. Was I that easy to forget, to get over? Does he honestly think it was okay to treat me the way that he did?
The truth is I'm envious that he was able to move on so easily, wish I could. I don't want him back, I never did, so why do I feel this way? Why have I been waking up at four in the morning for the past two nights and crying my eyes out?
I don't understand why his words affected me so badly, but I'm afraid that I may have seriously screwed up my peace of mind, what little that I had, by seeing him so soon. Stupid, stupid, stupid....
If he really got over you why meet you? Either he did it to be an ass or he wanted to see if u still had feelings for him. Who is to say. I understand why you'd be upset. I haven't seen my ex since he lives in another state but Ive had very emotional dreams that Ive seen him again. Emotions get all mixed up. Just remember you are in a better place now than being treated badly. I tell myself this when I think about him. Don't be hard on yourself be happy u are free from a bad relationship.
I honestly have no idea why he bothered to show. I even asked him that and he responded that he didn't know, although some of the things he said, that I didn't mention in my original post, make me question if he's really as over me as he says...
Regardless, I am glad that I'm no longer involved with him. The relationship was great for awhile, but when it took a turn for the worse, it really got bad and I was the one to suffer for it. I certainly don't miss that.
I guess what bothered me the most was the idea of him getting over me so quickly, while I'm still haunted by feelings for him. It's kinda like the last insult, but on the up side, now that he's made it so clear that all of his loving emotions for me are gone it should be that much easier to let go of him...
Sweetheart, YOU are UNFAIRLY punishing YOURSELF, and it would be a good idea for YOU to now STOP doing so. YOUR feelings are a HEALTHY expression of the LOVING person that YOU DEFINITELY are, there is nothing WRONG with that, NOTHING at all.
In hindsight, was this bloke WORTHY of YOUR LOVE of him (to ME at least, DEFINITELY NOT)? Sweetheart, when it comes to TRULY LOVING their fairer, and equal opposites, generally speaking, MEN quite simply, DO NOT HAVE A CLUE IN HOW TO DO.
And another, ALMOST CERTAIN FACT about your previous LOVE, he hasn't moved on, he doesn't know how to, and therefore...CAN'T. See beyond what YOUR heart says, and I am sure that this ACTUAL FACT will become more apparent to YOU!!!
YOU are a BEAUTIFUL in ALL ways woman, DON'T ALLOW this punk to cloud YOUR judgement of YOURSELF, because that is what YOU are doing sweetheart, YOU are ALLOWING him to do so, and to ME, that is what is the SADDEST about this post.
i disagree that "when it comes ti truly loving thier fairer, and equal opposites, generally speaking, men quite simply do not have a clue how to do it".
there are many many many men out there who are truly wonderful and loving their women!they may seem hard to find but they are out there!!!!i have one of them, my mothr inlaw does, my mother does, my sisters do, my sister in laws do, mant of my cousins do...!
Hi I think the reason it bothers you so much is because you wanted to feel loved, appreciated, and irreplacable there is nothing wrong with that. Some times when someone realizes that they have lost one of the best things they have ever had and they don't know how to deal with it. They lie ans say that they moved on and that they are so much happier and better off because they want to hide the hurt. They don't want to appear as lonely or desperate and they don't want to show their true feelings for you because they don't want to seem weak especially if they know you don't want them back or that you will shoot them done if they ask you to take them back. You are not stupid you are a person that has a broken heart and still has feelings for someone that you were in a 2 year relationship with. You are just vulnerable and maybe a little lonely but that doesn't mean that you are stupid ok don't be hard on your self that could happen to anyone. You are worthy of love and the right person is out there for you don't get discouraged. I wish you all the best. Hugs Art
