It seems like it should be a city in China or India. I think in the past Tokyo was the most populous city but I doubt it is now.

I'm going to guess Shanghai in China~

Mexico City???? I don't know what you're looking at Barb but I just found the World Atlas website that says that Tokyo is still the most populous city and have been for over 50 years when it displaced New York City in 1955 (the year I was born). Tokyo has a population of 37.8 million.

Shanghai, which I guessed is the most populous city in China, ranks 6th with 23.4 million. India's most populous city is Delhi which ranks 3rd with almost 25 million people so it's larger than China's largest city. Mexico City, which was the answer you had found, is ranked 12th with a population of just over 20 million.

I was wildly surprised that Jakarta in Indonesia is the second largest city in the entire world with a population of 30.5 million~ I would have never guessed that!
