Elsie, is your town located near Bakersfield?? I have a sister in love that lives in Bakersfield.

@jbtwin We are a little less than 2 hours east of Bakersfield. The little clip doesn't really show it. But we are better than two hours from Mammoth amd 1 1/2 hours from Death Valley. The closest town is 9 miles away but if you blink you WILL miss it. The next town is Mojave and that is 54 mies away. Then you have Bakersfield to the west and Landcaster to the south. Both close to an hour from Mojave (Pronounced Mo Ha Vy). Those mountains they show in the clip surround us on all 4 sides. The sun rises and sunsets here are incredible!!! We truely are out in the middle of nowhere. If it wasn't fof the Naval base there would be nothing here. Our population is only about 25,000 most of that military

@Elsiesue, when I was watching the video, I thought it was a military town. It does look like a wonderful place to live. However, it does look like it gets really hot there in the summertime.

Yes, Very hot!!!!!! Quie often over 100 dgrees is the norm..
