Oh Elsie...so sorry you are dealing with heating problems! Hope they get back to you soon and you get your heat back. Of course, if the insurance company would pay, a night at the motel wouldn't be bad! Good Luck!

@ Barb.. We called the correct # and the insurance will gladly call them to come out right away....IF....we want to pay the emergancy service call on top of the deductable. It would come to about $250.00 total....The Joys of living in the middle of nowhere....Nah, we will wait.

@Bonne....Insurance Co. wouldn't care if we stayed in a motel....however they ain't gonna pay for it...The cheapskates.

Son bought us a real nice space heater thingy...is keeping dining room toasty....Had to remove my sweatshirt.

Glad you are warmer. Yes, things then to break when we are least prepared. Or in my case, almost never prepared...Weekends, holidays...

Oh elsiesue - I'm so sorry. Now that I live in a cold area I know the importance of a heater. Do you have a lot of socks? I've been wearing about 3 to 4 pair at night and a warm coat around the house.

I have no intention of supporting the gas company :) But still - being cold is no fun at all. However, those little electrical heaters can eat up a whole lot of power - you don't want to use it too long.

Geez I'm just all happiness and light here - sorry - just stay warm, my friend.

oH and by the way that @#@%*** heater - maybe it needs to be replaced? I had to swear a little too. Love your post - "dirty word" lol - too funny.

I am so hoping that they get it fixed, or replaced QUICKLY. I hate dealing with stuff like this, but you and Dennis can always cuddle to keep warm. LOL

How's that stupid heater coming Elsie?

Stupid heater is DEAD!!! It has been determined that it is 50 plus years old and an albatross. It is leaking Carbon monoxide and trying to kill us. It has been condemned. We will be recieving a new one. Some time in the next two, yes, two weeks. Luckily we live in the desert. And at the moment are not terribly cold. It is suppose to get down to the teens by the end of this week but so far tonight the low is only 50. The good thing is that becaue of the insurance we have been paying for for the last 20 years the new heater will only cost us a $75.00 co-pay which has already been paid. Anything done now will not cost us any more. We have three space heaters at the moment and they seem to be keeping things acceptable for the time being. We are doing OK for now. Thank You, Linda, for asking.
