If Money were no object where is the one place on this lovely planet you would love to go on an extended visit?? and Why?
Thanks Elsie
Like how many legs do I have? How many teeth and so on ~ Laughing
My favorite meals are holiday meals. I love meal planning and baking is my favorite to do. My chocolate pie or home made hot rolls are always a hit.
Do you like to read? If so, what types of books?
Do you have a bucket list? If you do, what's one item on it?
And...
How is your daughter doing?
Have a great day!
I do like to read when I get a chance. I like true testimony stories about miracles. Of course I enjoy reading my bible too.
I don't have a bucket list but have been thinking about creating one.
My daughter is having a hard time lately. Thank you for asking about her. She will have another out patient procedure next week. She wasn't able to help me with the shopping today. So I divided it into two parts and will finish it tomorrow.
Much Love to you sweet girl ~ Rachel
Where were you born and raised? If not near where you and your daughter are living now, why did you move to the area where you now live? Do you have many relatives living nearby~ who?
If you could invite three people from history to have dinner with, who would you invite and why?
What is a favorite keepsake that you own?
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
It was interesting to read Rachel's answers to Barb's, Elsie's and Judy's questions. I'll keep your daughter in my prayers too Rachel for her improved health as I'm sorry to hear that she's struggling~
Much Love ~ Rachel
Okay so let me see;
Where was I born and raised? I was born in northern Louisiana. Our family moved to Orange Texas when I was about 15 months old. My dad was seeking new job opportunities. Along the years I moved to Houston after I got married and settled here.
Nearest relative living near me? I have a son and daughter who live within 10 to 15 miles from me. I don't have many relatives alive anymore sad to say but true.
If I could invite 3 people from History to have dinner with me? One would be the great President Lincoln the other would be the awesome Michael Angelo, and the last one would be Ford the inventor of ford cars.
My favorite keepsake? I have a kit I keep that belonged to my eldest son who passed away in 1997. It is the emergence kit he used in his EMT work. I simply cannot part with it and so I will keep it forever.
If I had a million dollars? I would rebuild a new home for me and my daughter. We would also take a trip to the holy lands.
Love Rachel xoxo
What is your highest level of education?
What job do you have now?
Thank you for all your prayers for my Dad. I will pray for Karin.
God bless you both!
What would be my favorite holiday dinner to prepare be? That would be Christmas dinner. I would of course bake a turkey and make homemade stuffing with cranberry relish. Mashed potato's & chicken gravy. I would make creamed asparagus and English pea salad. Pan fried corn in butter sauce and deviled eggs. It wouldn't be complete without my home made hot rolls fresh from the oven. For dessert I would serve my famous cheese cake with strawberries or blueberry topping, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
I graduated high school and have some college. I studied cosmetology, graduated at a local community college and worked as a hair dresser for several years.
I don't work now I retired several years ago as a request from my loving late husband and i'am loving my quiet years today.
Love you girl ~ Rachel
I'm sorry to hear that your eldest son passed away in 1997. I forgot to ask how many children you had? I know you have a daughter living with you and you said a son and daughter also live nearby. Do you have other children and where do they live? I know technically you're off the Hot Seat so you don't need to answer~ I'm just wondering~ :-)
That's an interesting group of dinner companions from history~ I'm especially curious about why you chose Henry Ford? Is there something you especially admire about him?
Rachel I know you mentioned your desire to travel to Israel when you answered Elsie''s question too. I hope you'll get a chance to go there even if you don't have a million dollars! It sounds like it would be a very meaningful trip for you.
Being Jewish we were always raised that at least once in our lives we should personally set foot in Israel. My father didn't like foreign travel but he finally got to Israel with my stepmother~ he was in his late 70s. So you've still got plenty of time~
I had four children 2 sons and 2 daughters in that order. Since my first son went to be with the Lord I now have living, one son and two daughters.
Henry Ford has always been an inspiration to me as far as what we are able to achieve in life if we try. Starting with very little he became a self made millionaire and today his automobiles are still being sold. His drive and his attitude of never giving up is an inspiration in it's self. He proved that the human will is unbeatable and to me that is an inspiration. That is why I named him as one of my dinner guest.
I hope one day to be able to visit Israel it would be a wonderful experience. But if I do not I can say I have lived a good and healthy life and one spent loving my family and friends. I do not feel that I have missed out on anything in life. For that I thank God and give him the credit for directing my life.
Love Rachel
