I love the Sundays of yesteryear when shops, banks and movie houses were closed and it was a day for getting up late, church, barbeques, visiting friends, afternoon naps and just sitting doing nothing.

I'm with you Ziporah, Sundays should be for family, I sadly fell into a pit of having to visit in-laws every Sunday after church and I love church but I dreaded the afternoons so it spoiled it and I never got to spend the time with just the immediate family. My Mother in law couldn't understand why I went to church either so would often get comments about it. My Father in law when he was alive made the visits worth it he was great but sadly died when my children were still quite young, my daughter I think was about 10ish.

Have to agree with Laraine and Sharon too.. Sunday was a day here that the whole family went to church together, and ate together.. It was a family day. It was nice that everytihng stopped, a time to regroup.. Nowadays the shops are open all day and it has become like any other day in our towns and villages..And Sharon my mil is the same, and the comments are really horrible.XXX
