This morning, my daily devotional by Max Lucado provided me with this gem:

"Think for a moment about this question: What if God weren't here on earth? You think people can be cruel now, imagine us without the presence of God. You think we are brutal to each other now, imagine the world without the Holy Spirit. You think there is loneliness and despair and guilt now, imagine life without the touch of Jesus. No forgiveness. No hope. No acts of kindness. No words of love. No more food given in His name. No more songs sung to His praise. No more deeds done in His honor. If God took away His angels, His grace, His promise of eternity, and His servants, what would the world be like? In a word: hell"........

From a Christian perspective: If God were not here on earth, in the person of the Holy Spirit, none of us would have a place in His Kingdom, for it is the the Holy Spirit that draws us to the Father...Jesus performed that task when He was on earth, but He knew He was returning to His Father's House, so He sent the Holy Spirit to do the work on earth after He returned to Heaven.

Joe, this is so true. Life on earth would be hell. In some aspects I think it is, but when we run across those people who do care, it's so nice to know that there are still people out there that do care.

If God was not here in the Holy Spirit I would be following the Old Testament as the Hebrew's do today. I hope I would have the insight to understand that God wanted the same thing then as He does today. To surrender our life to Him and trust in Him for our blessings. Sharon

Without God, there would be no Earth, no humans, and especially NO LOVE! If God left us here and showed no love, and there was no Spirit, it would be an awful place to be ~~ much worse than now, which is not a good thought!

Thank God for His mercy and goodness and GRACE.

So many people when confronted with all the evil in the world come to the wrong conclusion and blame God for all the pain and suffering or decide He does not exist. They ask: "How could a loving God allow this?" I don't think that they realize how much He holds evil at bay. If He removed His presence, in that void, I think that evil would thrive more than it does today. I am comforted by God's promise to never leave or forsake us.

It would be a terrible place for sure..I don't like to think about it. I am just so thankful for the plan that They came up with. (They: meaning Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ) I am so thankful for the beauty and peace in knowing They are here...Hugs~Shelley

I can't imagine my life without God to rely on, to guide me, to hear my prayers, to encourage and bless me. I have no idea how non-believers face life at all, or ever find comfort following a loved one's death.

Psalm 25:4-5: "Show me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth and teach me; for You are the God of my salvation, on You do I wait all the day."
