Update on Surgery

Yesterday they pulled out the 7 inch plate from my arm.  I feel like I have been gutted.  Someone took me to the hospital yesterday morning, then left to take her dog to the vet.  I didn't ask her if she dropped him off as well LOL.  But I can't complain; she made a Walmart run and bought my lunch.  And we did have some laughs while I was still loopy.  


The irony is that I went under the knife with not a soul there if anything had gone wrong.  I watched others coming and going to the rooms of other patients.  My nurse wasn't very pleasant either.  I got a bit apprehensive when they did an EKG, because they didn't do that last time.  The good news is that I have a good heart.  Of course you all knew that, right?  


Yep, I'm in a lot of pain, but hopefully it will get better with time - just like our broken and messed up lives.  Friday I have to remove the bandages and put on some of that colored stretch wrap.  That is, if I can get some from the store.  Nurse forgot to give me a roll...


I also have to start flexing my wrist.

....as a widow, I spent a whole month hospitalized far far away from my town & had major abdominal surgery. It often felt very lonely, seeing visitors come & go for others (because they were all near home). I prayed for you, knowing how you'd be feeling. and I pray for your recovery at home too.
When we feel the most alone, I know God is very near..and He understands our need for human company too. All I can figure is, He is teaching us how to comfort others & have compassion.
I'm sorry you are going through all this. I pray you can get the stretch wrap. They sell the exact same product at horse feed stores for a fraction of the cost, labeled as "3M equine Vet wrap". but I'm sure it is easier to get someone to drive you to a drugstore., or bring one to you. I pray for that too.
