I can imagine how emotional, that must have been for you. Ben and I decided had decided that after at least 40 years of marriage, we would renew our vows...alas...we never got round to it....I'm thinking that could be a regret for me....but you know, I'll be seeing him in heaven.

I to can understand how emotional a event like that would be. For a long time seeing couples holding hands in the park or in church was a trigger in bringing back the sadness, It no longer has that effect on me. Now it makes me grateful for what I got to experience as a loving couple. I know I was blessed.

hey Patti - I still have difficulty with people celebrating their silver weddings... I never had one (married only 22 years) and given my age and health issues, likely never will even if I married tomorrow. I've had to be really force myself to be grateful for the 22 years I had and the two amazing kids I have from that...
I'm glad you let yourself cry - holding it in is much more painful.

Thinking of you this day, and praying that God brings peace to your heart. I remember my first anniversary alone, it was so difficult, so full of emotions. At first it was difficult for me to see couples celebrating, but as time goes forward it is easier.
