WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS OF FAITH Community Group
A place where people of faith may freely discuss issues of grief from a faith based perspective.
Being a follower of Christ. I am a true believer that we are often effected by spiritual war fare. It isn't anything you see in the physical realm. But it is as real as the physical. Some don't belive. It's there. And the last few days I have been in it. And still fighting it tonight to a certain extent. The only way to stand against it is to get in prayer and let your faith and hope fight it. It is hard sometimes. Makes you want to give up. Espcially when the world itself offers nothing in the way of comfort in this area. You have to go to God for leadership and guidance.
Satin knows the area we struggle in and often attacks that area to bring you down. One of the ways to battle him for me is to bring it to light. For me it's worrying about if there is a future without my late wife Linda in it. Will I be blessed with another special one to love and rebuild a new life with. The dating scene out here is completley rediculous. It's why I had given up on dating when we met. She had also. The other is how much longer can I do this work. I work with children who have been abused and neglected. And although I have been blessed with the ability to help them work thru major outbursts, there is always the possibility they can become extremely violent and attack others. After 29 years of doing this the stress level has never let up because of the nature of the work. But I feel this calling to somehow stay involved with working with kids who struggle in some area of their life. But this area has the potential for uinjuries and I have seen several staff over the years injured and out of work. So Satin realizes these worries I battle with. And I am always in prayer to stay strong. And it's a spiritual war fare.
I guess I am publically acknowledging this to bring light upon these anxieties and for prayers from other Christians to move thru this. It is the best way to fight agaisnt this war fare. Because Satin wishes it to be in secret. He knows there is strength in numbers, espcially with Christians. And soon as others know what he is up to he looses his grip on us.
I know to some this may sound like, Tim has gone over the deep end. But I haven't. It is the way I have faught this my whole life. You have to bring Satin's behaviors into the light to expose him for what he tries to do. And like a cock roach, he runs for darkness soon as the light is turned on. Spiritual war fare is real folks. And it's a battle taking place everyday.
Thanks for your prayers in advance.
Peace to all, Tim
There is spiritual warfare against us, as we walk in faith without our spouse. and we find a spiritual safety in saying things here, to others who understand. I have done a lot of confessing here. and I will pray for you.
The Lord showed me the importance of fasting in prayer about spiritual warfare, way back before my husband got saved. It has proven to be very "effectual" in spiritual war. The only thing which has been easier for me since my husband left, is fasting, and I believe God has a reason for that. It is a tool in praying for others.
It is hard to understand why the enemy even bothers with me, because I don't feel strong during these trials. but scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 "His strength is made perfect in my weakness". and that is the Truth.
It is not Just "no matter how we feel" but is exactly Because we are weak, that Christ is glorified:
2 Corinthians 4:7.. we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
We are clay pots and He put His treasure inside us, just so He can "show Himself strong".
The Lord is working in you Tim, as you honor Him by confessing weaknesses. Christ is glorified.
I also struggle about my future, as I see nothing. but the Lord has something in His mind.
My husband worked for a time at a home for troubled youth, so I know what you are up against there.
You will have prayer.
God Bless You.
Barb.
I am still battling, but it isn't as hard. I can feel the prayer of all you guys.
Thank you again.
Peace to all, Tim
