-the day of my wife's funeral and for a week after my dgt's car kept starting by itself. My wife wanted me to hve it checked before she passed. When I did bring it to a friend/mechanic there were serious safety concerns that had to be addressed. My mechanic also told me it was impossible for the car to start by itself. It did so 5 or 6 times before I got it checked and fixed. It hasnt done it since.
-My wife was Filpino and part of the tradition of that culture is the family gathers for 10 eve after they pass in prayer. On about 4 of those evenings during the prayers every light in the houses went off and on by itself. If I hadnt seen it myself I wouldnt have believed it.
-About 3 months after my wife passed I was in such despair I begged for a sign she was near by. Nothing happened that night. The next day on my front bottom step was a collection of pretty rocks. My wife loved collecting rocks.
-The signs for me have diminished over time. My dgt is still having very vivid dreams where her mom visits. My last sign was abt 6 months ago the day my dad passed. That night my wife came to me in a very vivid dream and said nothing but hugged me.
Needless to say those signs have given me tremendous comfort. For those that havent had signs dont despair. There is a time and reason for everything. What many people call conincidences are often signs. The question is are you willing to open yourself up to them. The signs I experienced I know in my heart were gifts from God. What others choose to believe is up to them. Free will is another gift from God also. Linda thanks again for posting. Gerry
Antonella
Antonella, when my children were little their guardian angels used to talk to me all the time. I also used to wake up in the night when I was little and see someone sitting on the end of my bed. I just knew it was my angel and found it very comforting.
Thank you both for your replies.
Linda
When we are grieving, everything has significance. We see meaning in what appears to be random events and wonder what is going on. A flower blooms in our garden out of season. The phone rings when we are feeling desolate and lonely, and it is a friend who had a sudden urge to call. A bird lands on a tree branch outside our window chirping and singing for a long time. (For me it is blackbirds)
Is it possible that in the mysteries of creation, the Powers of God, the energies that move the world, even our departed loved ones--are looking out for us? we would like to think so. And when we get together with others who who have been through grief, we share our stories--shyly at first---and our skin tingles and our hearts are made glad and we think, Yes, it might be so. There is always room for doubt. There is also room for faith and hope That is the nature of mystery. I will accept as gifts all intimations of love and care.
I believe my son has sensed him, too...he's autistic, and non verbal...the other day, he was sitting on the couch looking toward the memorial I set up in the living room..suddenly he starting saying 'Daddy, daddy, daddy'..and seemed excited...
