RAIN ON GLASS

I watch the rain trickle down the pane

Distorting all I see

Making all a fantasy

like water on canvas

playing with form

And reality.

Solid shapes bend

As they do when I cry

Blur into one image

A rainbow;

An illusion

An intrusion

Into my inner space

Where I go to pray

Or to cry.

Away from eyes that pry

Filled with unknowing

Silenced the words

Unfeeling, unfelt.

Only the rain

And the pain

Remain.
