I recently ran across a article that helped me in the grief process and hopefully will help someone here:

-Grief usually will take longer than most people think it should

-Grief takes more energy than most people imagine

-Grief involves continual changes

-Grief will show itself in all spheres of life, social, physical, emotional, thinking spiritual

-Grief will depend upon how loss is perceived

-We grieve for many things(both symbolic and tangible), not just the death itself but also for the hopes, dreams, and unfulfilled expecatations held for and with that perso

-Grief will involve a wide variety of feelings and reactins, some expected and some not

-Loss may resurreect old issues, feelings and unresolved conflicts from the [ast

-There may be some identity confusion; due to the intensity and unfamiliarity of the grieving expereeince and uncertainty about new roles in the world

-There may be a combination of anger, and depression, irratibility, frustration, intolerance

-Guilt will usually be expereinced in some form

-There may be a poor sense of self worth

-You may expereince spasms, waves or acute upsurges of grief that occur without warning

-You may have trouble thinking and making decisions, poor memory and organization

-Many people feel like they are 'going crazy"

-Your mind may be preoccupied with the death or thoughts of the dead person

-Many will search for meaning in/for life and question their beleifs

-Society has unrealistic expectations about mourning and may respond inappropriately

-Certain dates, events, seasons, and reminders will usually bring upsurges in grief
