I just posted in my journal and wanted to share with you my prayer. Art and I have been together for 5 years starting 4 years after my husband passed. My prayer is for peace in God's will for the future. Art has been struggling with neurological issues since before we met and the symptoms have progressed as we shared our life together. It seems that the progressing of his symptoms are more than the neurological issues we were aware of and he has stage 3 Parkinson disease now also.

I pray that we can spend many more days and years enjoying our time together. I pray for acceptance of the future living each day to the fullest. I pray for the strength from God to accept His will and live in gratitude for the gift of each other. I pray for the ability to make the decisions that are right and let God leads the days ahead. Sharon, Thank you for sharing. I will include you in my daily prayers. At this place in our lives we must be ready for whatever occurs. We have been through the worst thing that can happen when we lost our husbands. God is Good . He then sent us wonderful people to share our lives with. They have been here to comfort us and we do the same in return. I am on my way now to Fred's to accompany him for a medical procedure. I pray he receives good results on the test.
In the three months we've been together he has proven that he can be here for me. We are blessed Sharon.

Sharon I go to a chapel most days. You and Art will be on my prayer list. I just visited my dental hygienist yesterday(I consider her a friend also) and her husband has been struggling with Parkinsons for several years having to leave a job as a high school gym teacher. She expressed to me the fears that she is experiencing with the journey. She cried and cleaned my teeth at the same time. All we can do is embrace each moment we are given. You know how to contact me privately if tough days appear ahead. I am definitely willing to walk with you as is everyone else here. Big Canadian hug my dear friend. Gerry

The Lord has been able to soak me in His peace when I was least expecting it, over the last year and a half. I pray that for you, as well.

Prayers Sharon, for you and Art.
I have a younger sister that also has Parkinson's. It was missed diagnosed several times before it was the named cause of her symptoms. It effects people on different levels and cherishing the time is important. For her the diagnosis is now 4 years long and I hope for more everyday.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We are coping . His deterioration has been long before the diagnosis, I realize that now. Naming it was the shock. I appreciate your support and prayers. Sharon

Yes, naming it is the shock.
I know that you are aware of all this Sharon......... but as a supportive reminder........
The Lord is using you in a wonderful way by attending to Art as you drop all the excess and focus on the simple.
You will get through this one day at a time and there will be lots of good days.
Remember to laugh together.

Sharon I lost my dear husband to Parkinson's Disease, I understand where you are at, what you are feeling and I will pray for you. Remember to take it one day at a time and don't let thoughts of the future get you stuck there. Enjoy today for none of us know if we shall be granted a tomorrow. Laugh, love and cherish.
