Was depressed going into Christmas, but my spirits were lifted when I went to Christmas Eve midnight mass at a Catholic church. For some reason I just wanted to go this year. I haven't been Catholic for nearly 40 years, so it was out of the ordinary for me. By coincidence one of my friends called last week and was asking where she could find a midnight mass. I was surprised as I didn't know she was Catholic. Then she said that she just wanted to go and that she hadn't been Catholic for decades. So, we two ex-Catholics went to mass. She brought her adult son who hadn't been to mass since he was a child.
All of us enjoyed it and were shocked at the amount of people there--well over 3000, and literally standing room as they ran out of seats. Back in the day there would have been plenty of seats in my old church.

A wonderful night filled with music and worshiping God.
