I'm having a hard time lately due to what's going on with my father. He said something very hurtful the other day, words that remind me of how the bible warns us of the dangers of the tongue. He can't take the words back, but they haunt me. They've changed our relationship. So I need prayer because my strength is not what it used to be. I lost a part of me when my husband passed and the part that is left isn't able to handle this.

You have my prayers and my sympathy...this is certainly not an easy thing to deal with under "normal" circumstances, so I'm sure it must be even harder now...I'llbe praying for you and for your father...God knows what needs to take place...in the meantime...here's a hug...from my heart to yours... ~E~

As difficult as it must be for you, just try to remember that the words spoken by your father were the words of a bitter, frightened old man. Remember when we were kids, we used to say, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me..."......Well, words ARE hurtful, but they are not fatal. You, Tru, are stronger than you give yourself credit for, and you will get through this, I am sure. But, you had better believe that I will hold you in my prayers and ask that God lends His strength to you, to help you handle this.....Joe

I will say a special prayer for you and I will pray that your father does not continue to hurt you and he learns from his mistakes. Be strong and put all your faith in GOD, that he will make things better.

I am so sorry you have to deal with this. My Dad could say some very hurtful and off the wall stuff when he was frightened/angry/bitter/sad. It hurt a lot, It was hard when he pulled this as I was taking care of my sick husband.

In the end, we were able to get over it and through it.....I will pray for a peaceful and good resolution for you and your father. Everything is already hard enough for you.

Sorry about your dad. Of course, prayers going up now. I'm sure he is, as others have said, angry and bitter. Does he have Dementia? Or maybe at the beginning of it? People with Dementia or Alzheimers~~ which ever, do say a lot of things that are mean. I know the Lord will give you peace. Hugs, Joely

I am so sorry for the hurt and pain you are going through. Words can be destructive and they can break your heart. Hopefully your Dad is not as mentally well as he should be and not aware of the way he treats you. I know, even then, it is painful. I will be praying for you both. I pray the Lord give you peace. The Lord is holding you and He will never let you go. The fraility of the human experience is hard and we often lash out on those who mean the most to us. I will certainly pray for you and your dad to leave the hurt and the pain at the feet of the Lord and live in love and kindness. Sharon
