WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS OF FAITH Community Group
A place where people of faith may freely discuss issues of grief from a faith based perspective.
I called my stepson today, and we probably talked a couple or three hours about his dad. When I got off the phone I discovered I was shaking. I suppose it is going to take a lot of time for the trauma to subside. Aaron has been very supportive, and we can talk candidly, but so much tends to be "bittersweet." Many know that I only knew my husband less than 6 years total, but his life had many twists and turns. Not all of it good. I even learned some things today that I did not know about. I choose not to dwell on the "what ifs" though because I would probably go off the deep end. This whole thing is nothing short of a tragedy, and only God will be able to bring total healing to the family. This support group can only take you so far. I find comfort in driving to my church, using my fob to go in and pray - as often as I can. I feel for those who deny their Maker.
