I think that finding the time each and every day to spend alone with Him is essential. Good, quality, quiet time. Just you and Him. Reflecting on what is important to you, why it is important, and what you can do to secure it. And I am not referring to "things". I am referring to people or principles. Asking God to help keep you focussed on the good that is around you is the best way to honor that which He has given you. Other than that, I haven't a clue...but it's a start.......good question.......Joe... ;-)

For me, the greatest thing I can do to honor Him is to be obedient to Him. Obedient to His teachings, obedient to His calling, obedient to His leading. For me, this encompasses the things Joe mentioned above, among others. Secondly, and close on the heels of obedience is sharing Him with others, boldly and without hesitation.

Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light so shine before men,that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

John 14:15: "If you love Me, keep my commandments."

If we commit our lives to Him, it will show in our actions. Through our actions, His love will be given to those around us.

From the Living Bible: "Don't just pretend you love others; really love them. Hate what is wrong; stand on the side of the good. Love each other with brotherly affection and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically. Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble and prayerful.. always. When God's children are in need, you be the one to help them out......

There is SO MUCH we should do for Him - and the scriptures are full of instruction. I think it will become much harder for Christians to "stand and be counted" in the future. Look around - at how anything "Christian" is ridiculed. We need to be firm in our faith - and as Joe said - spend time in study and prayer every day. Obedience is also necessary. And Encouraging each other - as we do here. May He Bless each of You today!

I have been reading a book by Joyce Meyer called "Battlefield of the Mind". Last nights message really seemed timely. "God gives us understanding to walk with the Lord and in obedience to His will, There are times when God leaves huge unanswered question marks as tools in our lives to stretch our faith. Unanwered questions that crucify the flesh life. Is it difficult for human beings to give up reasoning and simply trust God, but once the process is acccomplished, the mind enters into a place of rest." Reading further she says, " Reasoning is one of the "busy activities" in which the mind engages that prevents discernment and revelation knowledge. There is a big difference in head knowledge and revelation knowledge". I want to stop trying to figure out why Tim died and reach that level of trust in God and have my mind in a place of rest!.

What actions do I do to honor Him? I talk to Him many times during the day and night. I read His word daily to feed my spirit. I try to respond like Christ would (not always able too) to those hurting or who have hurt me. I have and will remain faithful to God, trusting Him to take care of me and to always do what is best for me,even when I dont understand why things happen as they do. I know that through these difficulties,He is molding me into what He wants me to be. I honor and love my God with all my heart...:

What can we mere human beings possibly do to honor the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? I wrestle with that often. He created the universe and everything in it. We are mere specks of dust, a puff of smoke and then we are gone. How can this miserable worthless me do anything to honor someone so awesome, glorious, majestic and Holy. I am not worthy to fall at his feet let alone call Him Father.

But for the grace of God go I.

I give myself to Him and ask Him to do with me as He will and I hope that is enough.

I believe I put my faith in action by being obediant to the commandment of love. In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus says "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.â
I seek to put this in action everyday with Gods help. I also believe that the bible is the word of God and that he and His word are one. Therefore I try to read it everyday.This is one way I can fellowship with Him. I get great comfort and strength out of reading the scriptures.
I do believe the Lord will meet all of my needs because His word says he will. In 1 John 3:21-23 it says " Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. I just keep reading and meditating the scriptures and my faith seems to get stronger. I also give the Lord praise everyday and I Thank Him daily for meeting my needs. I also try to stay free from fear that he will not come through for me. I believe fear is harmful to my faith. God has His own timing for everything and I rest in this truth.
For me spending alone time with the Lord is an essential part of my day. After all how can I trust him if I do not know him. Time in His presence builds relationship,trust and intimacy with Him. This time builds my confidence in Him and his promises to me. It also increases my trust in His love for me.

For me, obedience is key, along with following the conviction of the Holy spirit............also thanksgiving...............Knowing I don't deserve all the goodness and grace, I realize He loves me enough to make me His own child and I delight in His abounding love for me.............
