A friend of mine's son was recently released from jail. He has wrestled with many demons including addiction, incarcertion, and depression to name a few. I have befriended him over the last year or two and gotten to know him quite well. Recently over coffee in a off the cuff manner he shared a very very personal story. He told me a few years earlier he was really messed up one night. He went below a bridge to a river with a backpack filled with rocks and he was going to throw himself in the river and kill himself. He said just as he was about to jump a street person grabbed the back of his collar and pulled him backwards to the ground. He was furious this guy interfered and threatened to beat him up if he didnt go away. The homeless man said 'it not your time to die and I am not going anywhere I dont care what you do. He was so angry and went further down the river and the street person followed. He threw whatever money he had at him and begged him to go away. The homeless man said your not dying tonight and I am not going anywhere. This went on for 6 hours. Needless to say he is alive today because that angel that night saved him from himself. God can work through anyone at anytime to meet our needs especially when we are in despair.

I share this story with you because it is true and looking back at my despair I could see Jesus walking with me and putting angels where needed when needed. This man who almost killed himself and recently got out of jail is actively working to rebuild his life in a positive way. I know he will succeed because it is clear God has a plan for him. If we are still here God has a plan for us also. God bless.

I think the homeless man was an angel in disguise! I sat at the end of the pier for a long time feeling suicidal when approximately 16. There were workers on shore that every time I glanced their way were watching me. It got me past the feeling and I got up, slowly walked back. They immediately packed up their stuff and drove of! I think they were angels. That is very touching and uplifting that your friend's son is moving forward!

I will try again if this digital device will allow. I believe everybody is an angel to somebody at some point in their life. Here is one example. I was in my late 20's in a horrible marriage. My esteem as low as you can get. I was thinking about suicide. I had gained weight and needed a dress for an occasion. My mom said she would go shopping with me. We discussed size just before reaching the store. So I was totally surprised (but shouldn't have been) when my mom blurted out in a very loud voice, what size do you need? Across on the other side of the rack was a very beautiful and slim woman. She looked startled at my mom's loud voice. I quietly said the size which my mom repeated very loud then said "my God!!!!" " how did you let that happen??" I was mortified, shamed and demoralized. Being already so very low, which my mom was aware, I felt so unloved that all I wanted was to die right there on the spot. Okay so maybe that's not the worse thing that's ever happened to me. Far from it. At that moment though just as I made up my mind to go ahead and leave this world I looked up into the most caring and loving eyes of that strange woman. We locked eyes and she very slowly and kindly gave me the sweetest smile and a nod of acceptance. She then looked at my mom with anger and disgust. She acknowledge for me that mom was very wrong in what she did and that I am an acceptable person regardless of size. I did not deserve that humiliation. That woman was an angel for me that day. I don't know who she is but I thanked God for her so many times since and sent silent blessings her way. This is just one example of how a stranger helped me and saved my life. Who knows, maybe today I or you might perchance smile at a stranger and change their lives forever.

Awesome stories. Whenever I hear these kind of testimonies, it sends chills up my spine. What an awesome God to send angels in our times of need.
