Both of my boys have moved out... so I have the "wonderful" opportunity to clean the room they had shared upstairs... ugghh... I started on it today, but it is difficult to maneuver the steps still. Plus, a lot of what they left behind is bigger stuff, so they can help when they have time.
My friend (one that has actually stuck with me, and stops in occasionally) came to see me yesterday and we had a nice visit. Later that evening, she sent me a text that her fridge quit working. She already had a migraine coming on. She works very hard for everything she gets, and was feeling guilty about "splurging" on her kitchen in the months prior. She spent 13 years saving up for a "new" kitchen, and only recently got all of her new cabinets and countertops (She was keeping her appliances for now). Her old kitchen had about two feet of counter space and literally NO cabinets!
Anyway.... I got on FB this morning and in my newsfeed someone I know was selling their side-by-side with ice and water in the door for $100. It is a nice Kenmore... maybe 5 years old, and very clean. So... I bought it, called my friend's son, and told him to meet me where it was. So... hopefully I have done a little something to help alleviate the stress in her life. It is not new, but it is actually very nice!

When I was cleaning large items on our patio and in the house, after Morey passed, I called I-800-GOT JUNK. They're amazingly wonderful at cleaning and taking away the stuff that no one else can seem to help you with. The two guys who came were so helpful, clean and quick.

I know what you mean about maneuvering steps! Oy vey. There are a plethora of them here. I've been procrastinating unpacking my clothes and getting my closet(s) organized. Not sure what this has to do with steps . . other than it involves going down stairs. LOL
BTW, are you okay with the boys having moved out?

With my own health situation, I worry more than most would (They already lost their dad... and if they lose me how will they survive?) But I think that that is more "me" than anything based on real reason. They are responsible, and pay their bills... They know how to take care of themselves. But... for my own assurance, I paid off my oldest son's house, Bought my younger son's (at the time of purchase I told him that he could buy it from me on land contract... But I changed that, quit claimed it to him, and it is his). The house I live in will go to my daughter... to be quit claimed upon my death or her 18th birthday (whichever is later).
If nothing else, I will know that they each have homes.... They will have a lot to deal with, so it was overwhelming me until I did these things.
