I have had a hard time with a certain emotion since my husband got really sick, and especially since he passed away...ANGER..I had issues with it before, even took an anger management course in my early 20's...(it wasn't my choice, but I had no other alternative given the situation I was in)...anyway, yesterday...I took my son to the DQ we usually go to and something set him off...he starting to have a tantrum in which he was hitting himself, etc. He's a big boy..19 years old...and in the course of my struggling with him, everything on the table ended up face down on the floor..Anyway, this bum comes in from outside and starts talking loudly to the other patrons, putting my son down, etc. I was ignoring him up to that point.. Then he gets in MY face...starts calling me a bad parent, points out the mess on the floor and starts whining about that...(and while he clearly wasn't right in the head, and was using our situation to his own advantage, to get attention for himself) I was in no mood to deal with someone else's bullshit...So I told him to back away, but he was right in my face, and my son's face...so I yelled at him to 'fuck off'...several times...and he still didn't get the message...so I threatened to punch him in the head..that's when an employee told him to leave...as soon as he did? My son calmed down..they made us another combo to replace the one that ended up on the floor, and the rest of the afternoon was okay. But man, I've got to pace myself...what scares me is that if I hadn't had to use both hands and all my energy to keep my son from beating himself and possibly putting his head through the window or something, I might have grabbed the guy by the throat or something...glad that didn't happen...I did a short stint in jail back in the early 90's before I met Tom...and I don't want to go back...
