I have to remind myself of this 24/7 . . making progress, and am proud; yet . . I know if I keep pushing too much, I'm gonna have a serious set-back!! Often, there are days I do wake up, knowing I've set myself back . . yet keep pushing. This is not a noble thing, I promise you. It's a really horrible egotistical push that doesn't help get us to the next level. (my opinion). I'm still learning, as I'm sure you are. Let's agree to take it a bit more easy with ourselves, without having to prove anything to the outside world, eh? I'll make that pledge with you!! :) xo, nite . . D

I will certainly try. I have already popped the plate and screws loose... so I can feel them wiggling and stabbing the fleshy part. I was hoping that if I got everything done that I would be able to take it easy and just take care of me for a few days, but more stuff keeps coming up. Time to ignore some of it!

Amy, you absolutely amaze me. It exhausts me to read all that you are doing! Do you ever take time for YOU? I have a list of shit to do pages long. Well, I can't even find it now I am so disorganized. So maybe tomorrow I will make another one, maybe not. I pushed myself the first couple months as I had work crap that had to be done. But then I asked them to take me off the schedule for July and August. I was losing my mind. Nearly everything anybody said set me off as I percieved it in a totally different way than it was meant. I read so many books on grieving and yet retained none of it. I needed that time to get my poop in a group. or at least get through the day. I chose to meet my grief head on, no holds barred. Cry when I needed, try to sleep when I could, and mostly I just vegatated. Didn't want to see anyone, go anywhere and I screened all my calls. I needed that time. Didn't get a damn thing done around or inside the house, but I will get to it when I feel like it. It not being done only bothers me. The days do seem to be a little easier, I still cry sometimes at the drop of a hat, And I don't care. I don't suffer as much with that kick in the gut first thing when I wake up. I actually find myself looking forward to a few things. My kids and grands especailly. I am still questioning what I want to do when I grow up. Being a real estate agent was hard, yet rewarding, but now I am not sure if I even want to do that anymore. I know I need to work, just not sure yet. I still hate the idea of my husband being gone, it's so final. And still can't imagine a life without him. But control freak that I am, I coulld not control him leaving. So for now I guess I am just going to go with the flow. See where life takes me, quit taking on all the world's problems as if they were my own. I have enough drama with my kids, grands and now my "four" dogs. I think I am about ready to re-read those books on grief again and maybe find they are actually relative to me and I may even find some comfort in them. I do know that having these two grand daughters and now these two puppies I have found that I can truly laugh out loud again. And I hope that makes my husband smile, as I know he would if he were still here. Hugs and Love to you, Michele

I have been doing the same kind of things for several months, trying to get the house ready for sale.. You really do need to take some time for yourself and rest... if you don't you will hurt yourself...speaking from experience here since i am one of those people that also wont ask for help...

after one 18+ hour long sessions a few weeks back, I was bringing a free standing air conditioner unit down stairs..I was tired..I was rushing...and as i brought it down the stairs, i bounced off the dolly and pushed me and the dolly right into the front door...luckily i'm a "big guy" and was already only 1 step from the bottom..so while it hurt like hell, It didnt break anything..but at that moment i realized i was pushing too hard...I could have gone down 7 stairs with a 100 lb air conditioner on my head..

your leg is still recovering.. you dont need to hurt yourself... those things will "keep" if you rest a bit.
