Feel like I want to sit down and cry. Need help w

I just got a call from my ex who is in the secure detention center that he had just signed a paper stating he will be revoked if his family can not find him a permanent place to live! I am so frustrated and so torn. I feel like whenever I have been around my ex the responsibility all ways seems to fall on my shoulders. I do not want to see him go back to prison for this. It will not be benafical for him to sit himself in prison. I find myself feeling guilty too, because I really do not wnat to be the one going and trying to find a place, dealing with all the negativeness of the people I talk to about the places for him to stay at. I really have not had much luck with finding a place. It is hard to find anywhere in Milwaukee county. Many of the areas, such as Cudahay and South Milwaukee have all these residency restrictions. One of them is that you can not move into the area unless you lived there when the crime was committed. More and more of these areas are coming up with these restrictions stating "we do not want to become the dumping ground". I have called his PO to find out more about this and to find out if the few places she had checked out are going to work. In my heart I would hate to see him go back to prison. He will not have to work any programs, go to AA just sit there, I guess that this afternoon I am going to have to sit down and go through the paper and craigs list again and see what I can find. I will try to call the homeless shelter to see if I can get any leads. If anyone could please explain to me how I could use the registry to find places. I mean do I go and put in a zip code of an area then look up each sex offender and see where they live? Will it state that it is an apartment and the name of the apartment. What do I do to find out so I can find a number to call. Then the PO stated that there are only suppose to be a certain number of sex offenders living in one building. My God what do they think they are going to do, gather together and go hunting like a pack of wolves? Any help or support would greatly be appreciated. I am waiting for the PO to call back. Thanks for letting me vent

You are starting in the right places... You can put in a zipcode and find those that are living in the area. It won't give you apt complex names but their addresses are on the registry and if it has an apt # in it you can google that address and see what is there.... You should be able to do that in something like whitepages.com in reverse address stuff I believe. Or you might just be able to google the address and it will give you something. Craig's list and the paper are also good... Realtors sometimes will have leads too.

Although you do have to remember to do what is right for you. It shouldn't all fall on your shoulders. You are not responsible for him, hence the EX part... I do understand your guilt and feeling of obligation, but as they say on every airplane when they tell you how to put on the oxygen mask. Put your's on first, then help those around you.... So make sure you take care of you before you drive yourself crazy looking for a place for him to live. Remember he did make these mistakes as well... and while I know you care about him and don't want to see him suffer, there is a certain extent of a bed that he made that he has to lie in. So try not to stress so much about it and what happens, will just happen.
