Hair Loss?

Hi folks, I am scheduled next month for my surgery and I'm starting to become sad over the prospect of losing the hair I just took 2 years to grow out!  Yes, it sounds vain but it's always been a dream of mine to have long hair as I had short hair my entire Navy career.  Without taking biotin  as it has NEVER worked for me, is there anything else I can do?  Thanks everyone.

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard you lose hair if you're not getting enough protein. And that hair loss is temporary. I had my surgery two weeks ago. So far no issues. I'm just going by the book in what I eat and how I eat it. I wouldn't worry too much, but I understand your concerns. But in the end, this journey will be worth it. At least that's what I'm counting on!

It is called Telogen Effluvium, and it simply must be endured.

This happens when there are metabolic or hormonal shifts.
WLS causes the double whammy of this, unfortunately. No, nothing will stop it. The good news is, by the time you notice the shed-out, the new hair is already coming back in.
It has no correlation with protein or using a supplement or not.

Some people lose hair a lot. Some, just a little.. It grows back.

Your hairstylist can help you disguise the loss pretty well.
