It has been very difficult to watch my best friend suffer and change into a totally different person. She has a 9 year old son and the counsellor says not to tell him yet, it's too soon. It has been 8 months since we found out and she has changed drastically. I don't think it's right to mislead this little boy into thinking his mother is going to be fine like the other times. Doesnt' he deserve to know the truth and spend the last days with his mother knowing what is going on instead of treating each day like everything is fine. I understand trying to protect this little boy but i think he deserves to know the truth. I think he will be very upset if he finds out it was kept from him. This time should be special for them, not treated like every other day. My friend has changed and is dealing with depression and aggression and I know her son does not understand. shouldn't he know the truth so he can understand?
