Hi my name is Kim, and I live downunder. I am a thriver not just a survivor of abuse and torture. I'm so thankful that I am in a place of peace and freedom now that I haven't previously experienced. I've done alot of work in therapy over the last 7 years, and took the painful but necessary (for me) step to go NC with my last abuser still alive. My parents are now both deceased (mother was Narc/BPD and horrific abuser, and father heavy drinker and sexual abuser of me from age 3).
Christmas is a painful time when alot of the worst abuse occurred. However this year I feel "held" and for the first time ever feel...JOY :)
This is a new experience for me. It's taken alot of work to get here but I'm so thankful and blessed because my dear hubby (of 17 years) has walked every one of those painful steps with me. He too is a survivor and a thriver.
Just wanted to introduce myself. I look forward to hearing from others. Have a blessed and peaceful Christmas and New Years.

For me too, some very horrible, abusive things happened around the holidays. It seemed my biological mother was just unable to handle the 'pressure' she put on herself every Christmas and took it all out on the family.
I am glad to hear you are doing well and in a good relationship. Wonderful Christmas and New Years wishes to you as well :)

Im IMWHOLEAGAIN and thanks for joining us and sharing your story. Its a blessing to have someone walk with you on a very painful journey of what I like to call discovery.
Unfortunately it is through pain most find out that they are truly victors who were victimized..Simply because we made it means we are overcomers. We may not be where we want but we are not where we were.
