Hi, fellow ladies and and gentlemen, who have been through the battles with very unusual people that are totally different from most.
I have read as much as I can handle at a time, sometimes many sources at once, about N, P, S , behavior. For as long as I can remember, I have been the target of these types of people. I did not know though, a thing really, about the characteristics, and that each one is like the same person, with a different exterior, sometimes, so much so, it is really astounding. Had I known now, but I guess why go there, because now I do know. I was always a people pleaser, went out of my way to help others, way too much. It was exhausting. I was like the girl next door, who people called to put out fires, and I went, way too long. Then, I worked for a couple of bosses, that I pretty much was owned by, and they made it like they were doing me a favour to work for them as a hairdresser. It was so off the wall, but I was taken in by this type of personality over and over again. I am not sure if it is because I entertained them, as I was always happy, funny, but as I got older, I started to get not well. I had stomach problems, that ten years at home, are now just getting straightened out, but I still have flashbacks. I would get up to get my kids off for school, at five, every day, go to work, and work til the bosses left, several different places, then they wanted to occupy my time off days as well. I was married into two narcissistic families, and had one extreme narcissist partner, and then about three years ago, a friend from way back had married and introduced me, even after I said no, to a family member of hers, and he was the worst example of a S, I have ever seen. Have any of you watched one, and see their face change right before your eyes, from calm, to distorted, and at less than a snap of a finger. plus he was always the victim, and lied so much, and told things to my friend, which she did not get til not that long ago. he either thought it, or knew it was not true, but he made everything my fault. I dont know how i came to know, but I knew that I had encountered the behaviour before, but this was the far worst. I then started to read , and had so many books on my kindle about it, til recently. I was isolated by choice when i didn't ,feel well, physically, and emotionally, and at times am about to come back out more, but I like my home, my dog, my kids, who are mostly not here, full time, but I dont have a lot of motivation at times. I have been to and still am going to a great psychiatrist. I get real good, then I learn more, and then, am thankful for the lessons, and every second I have spent here at my home. I really only have a couple people I have told the stories about to, one is a friend for ever, not he one that introduced me to the guy three years back. I also have a tendency to associate people with the time frame of some of the lessons. I don't think I am nuts per se, lol, but I am pretty sure my biggest fear, is either being stalked or, meeting another one of these types. I seem to notice that I don't respond to people in public like I use to, or in a line at a store, or in an office. I use to listen to everyone, and smile and some took that as flirtacious, or whatever. Does anyone have any input on the isolation thing, and any experience of your own? I haven't been to church in my town for almost twenty years, as the family I was involved with, when they knew I would not financially do what they wanted, sell my home, move in with them, they snatched my daughter for at least five years. That is over now, and my daughter is older , too, and I never told her much, she was little, but her Dad told me, after her Gma, his mom, passed , that she did not get along with her mom, or his sister, but she loved mine so much, and kept her. it was right after i lost my dad, and I am an only child. i felt like all I had was my dog, my older two kids, and God, who of course was who got me through. I really haven't left much, or even do a lot outside here, only on occasion. I know it is all better, although the last person, was the worst. on a great day, I say, thank God, or I would never have learned about these types of being. peace, mw

1. Family of origin. Growing up in a family with PD traits.
2. Being the codependent, people-pleasing type.
3. Not having good boundary-setting, assertive skills.
I've been studying this for about 8 years and that's what I've concluded.
I used to be very outgoing and fun. I was always out doing fun activities. But I have rarely left my house over the past 7 yrs. I even work from home full time now due to the PTSD I got from all of this. I have also had a lot of GI problems, sleep disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome/fibromyalgia, etc (all directly related to this trauma).
