From my experience their anger is fake and presented only to manipulate when they are denied of something.They are not really reactive people, but they cause reactions in others.

Though I agree with emotions intended to manipulate others I do think my ex was an angry man. In other words, I think one of his only true emotions was anger. The rest was acting.

Was he irritated just like that? In general or angry when he did not get what he wanted?

Of course he was angry when he didn't get what he wanted...but he just hated people in general. We would be at dinner and he would volunteer, " I hate people". Because he felt he was a victim to everyone and everything he just was an angry man in general - not just too manipulate people.

I believe they are truly angry people. Anger is not one of the emotions they mimic. That is one of the few emotions they do experience and it is very real. Just think about the hideous, cruel things they do to people--innocents who have done nothing but good to them--and you see anger, you see fiery mountains of destructive rage.

I am not arguing against it. They may experience anger. The ones I have know expressed irritation at most.

Consider yourself lucky Dana. An angry psychopath is after your throat.

Let me rephrase that, Dana. You were, in no way lucky, by the way in which you were used and discarded by a P. I meant to say that, when they aim their rage at you, it is like a war zone, you are the enemy and they are just bombing the hell out of you until you stop getting up.

Your P was probably capable of that. You just were not with him long enough for it to reach that point.

I never saw the raging anger until I had truly fucked up their game. Once you do that....they won't hold back anymore. My first P would kill me if given the chance. The father of my child (the N) cracked his mask pretty badly and he was like exorcist SCARY. Only saw it once for about 5 minutes and then he regained control. With both of these guys though it did not happen until I put an end to their games permanently. Total shift.

In my understanding about sociopaths/psychopaths, rage is ALWAYS the guiding force - they may not show it outwardly tho. They can snap with no notice tho. In my case, luckily, he never ever raised his voice to me, but if I would have pushed him into a corner, who knows? My S-path was 6'5" and 260 lbs - why did I have to pick a GIANT sociopath?

Mine was both overt in anger (rage) that was scary but let's not forget the silence treatment and passive aggression which is as bad. Mine had both. Out of everything the silent treatment was by far the worse. I have been threatened and the object of things throen at me and extreme verbal abuse. But the silent treatments were evil.

He gave me a horrible time just because I wanted a say in moving areas. I was given two areas to choose from. They hate resistance.
