Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
This list is my own.
1. You marvel at how some statements can be so true, yet so false at the same time.
2. You find yourself resisting the urge to ask any potential significant other a series of unusual questions..."just in case".
3. Old adages and pieces of common know-how no longer seem effective or relevant.
4. You find yourself critical of many aspects of life that seem trivial and or are taken for granted by others, such as jokes, games, tv shows, music, religion, etc.
5. You feel you can never regain the same enthusiasm you once enjoyed, or the things that are good in your life seem less enjoyable, or are now so enjoyable they seem beautiful.

It's true, sometimes the only way to spot these toxic people is to compare your life in their company to what it used to be before you got involved with them. If your life has gone downhill, maybe just going "no contact" can turn everything around for you. Going "no contact" with someone is not a crime, but they might make you think it is. If your life improves without them, that's the proof that they're a leech of some kind.
When you're in a relationship with someone, even just friendship, it's very hard to evaluate what's really going on. We tend to ignore the ways they control and undermine us...then we forget these things even happened.
I find with these types the best thing is to really take no heed of anything they say. Watch what they do. Usually they don't do much at all apart from things that are in their own interests.
