Take heed before having kids with one of these nutterbars.

After that first year when I left my ex, I felt like I was in a complete fog. I remember very little. It's strange, like a dream. We've had tons of court garbage to deal with since then - mostly thanks to the enabling sister & OW. I have sole physical custody but we have joint legal with generic visitation rights (every other weekend thing).
Our teenage daughter refused to go with my ex so he filed a contempt motion (denial of visitation) 15 months ago and never followed up on it............ until now.
We go back to court in a week and I'm trying to get prepared with this year+ old contempt petition.

I swear it's like I didn't even read his affidavit. I don't know where my head was back then. I just wanted to avoid the entire ugly situation, but now that I'm in a MUCH better place - mentally & physically - I'm reading over his accusations and I'm fuming!!! Why didn't I pay closer attention to this? I could have batted every single one of his B.S. lies right out of the park! I CAN'T BELIEVE THE EXAGGERATIONS AND MISTRUTHS IN HIS STATEMENT!!!
UGH!!!

Someone please talk me down or I'm never gonna get any sleep tonight.

I think it's pretty typical for us to go into a fog. The psyche can only handle so much pain. I guess it's a sane mind trying to make sense of an insane situation, which just can't happen. The thing is they have such shallow emotional affect they don't feel much at all. The unfairness is maddening. I hope that you can sleep and that you can go in with the conviction that you're right. The thing is, judges see guys like him every day. They're not fooled.

just start from today girl, the fog is not a good place to fight from and back then your anger may have had a different if not negative effect , but now is a whole new story. go get him girl !!!!!!!!!

I totally know what you mean about the fog. I often sit around wishing I'd gotten rid of him or talked back to him so many times, and it's hard to understand how i put up with so much crap from him at the time knowing what I know now. I'm like, WHAT WAS I THINKING?? But I have to remind myself that I was dealing with a deranged individual under extenuating circumstances.

A lot of people have told me that that is my biggest hurdle: learning to forgive myself for letting things go as far as they did. I kind of agree. I still haven't been able to forgive myself, which would really help me to move on. In due time, I suppose...

Not to rain on your GO GET HIM parade but a word of caution when dealing with judges and lawyers: Many of them are also S,N,or Ps so please be careful not to use the term(s) unless your ex has been actually diagnosed with any of them. Make sure you trust the lawyer you have (if you have/need one) and make sure they are experienced with dealing with S,N,P in court so they won't be manipulated by your ex too. It happened to my friend. Her ex is a pot-smoking cheater that hangs around with convicted pedophiles and has even been arrested with possession before and he was given almost 50/50 custody even after he admitted that he just didn't want to pay child support. ANYONE can be a victim of these creeps. Just a suggestion.
